In 1959, Leon Davis started Davis Racing with a Flathead Sportsmans and a lot of hopes and dreams.  Never did he imagine that the team he started would be come a Dynasty now 46 years in the making.  Stronger than when Leon first head those famous words, "Gentlemen, Start your engines!"  The determination and fight of Leon is still very strong in the #53.

Leon raced until 1966 when he handed the "keys and wrenches" over to his son Harry.  Harry continued his fathers dream.  Harry became known as the "Patriarch" of Davis Racing.  Before the tradition was handed down to his son Darryl in 1994, they had six feature wins.  Hardy is still very much a part of the team on and off the track.

In 1995, Davis Racing recorded one win in the sportsman's division.  From 1999 to present, the team has recorded eight big block modified wins.  During this time, Davis Racing had become known as "the breeding ground" for up and coming drivers.  Towards the end of 2004 Darryl lost his driver, after posting 3 big block modified wins.  As the end of the 2004 racing season came to a close, Darryl realized that the time had come for a change in his racing philosophy.  Never had the team ever had a paid professional driver.  Now the perfect time had presented itself.  This was the beginning of Double D Motorsports.  The number, spirit, and pride has stayed the same, but the team name has changed with the times.

Double D Motorsports is proud to present the drivers for the 2004 Racing season.

Richie Eurich of Warwick, NY will be driving the JPM powered #53 Big Block Dirt Modified.  A 2005 TEO Procar brand new from the ground up.  Richie's resume includes a three time Big Block Track Championship at Orange County Fair Speedway, Middletown, NY.  He is also a 41 time Big Block featur3e winner.  Richie also has one 358 Modified Track Championship at Orange County Fair Speedway, and is a 16 time feature winner in the 358 Modifieds.  As a veteran and seasoned driver, Richie brings an attitude of winning Championships with him.

Joey Barbagallo of Montague, NJ is the driver of the Double D Motorsports Enders powered #53 358 Small Block Modified.  A 2003 TEO Procar completely updated from the ground un. Joey has never won a feature in the 358 Modifieds, but has won in other forms of motorsports.  He has been racing 358 Modifieds for about five years.  He too is following a "Family" tradition, his father drover for many years in a  258 Modified.

The team formed in Double D Motorsports stable contains the ingredients needed for a successful season.  Our goals are a Big Block Track Title.  A Small Block feature win and a top 10 in points.  All this is possible with the experience of the drivers and crew.  Most important is the Forty-six years of dedication, enthusiasm, and dreams that the #53 car Dynasty holds within its family.
